Voting for absent MPs and forgery of MPs’ voting and registration in electronic system presents a very serious legal problem which is in fact a problem of national security, since the violation of legal procedures of a law’s adoption is the basis for declaring the laws so adopted unconstitutional.

The traffic police have almost certainly now been used twice to deny citizens their most fundamental human rights. With local elections looming, the consequences of ignoring such violations surely do not need to be spelled out.

If the President passes the Law “On the Judicial System and Status of Judges”, citizens will receive a swift, but unfair justice system from dependent judges. The law would cause irreparable damage to economic prospects and the development of a law-based democracy in Ukraine, as well as to the country’s reputation in the world. Help us to say a decisive NO to a politicized justice system!

It is entirely certain that Ukraine risks serious trouble over non-compliance with the Aarhus Convention on Public Participation over such overt disregard for the views of its own citizens. It would be well for those in higher places to understand that now – the democratic gloss has already worn dangerously thin.

It is vital that we demonstrate to the crushing of peaceful protest in Gorky Park has no justification in a democratic country and that such actions must not go unpunished. Please add your voice to our appeal to the Council of Europe Human Rights Commissar

We the undersigned members of Ukraine’s civic society express our categorical opposition to the agreement reached on 21 April 2010 in Kharkiv between the Presidents of Ukraine and Russia. This agreement included, without any prior public or parliamentary debate, the extension by 25 years of the Agreement on the Status and Conditions for the Stationing of the Black Sea Fleet on Ukrainian Territory, up till 2042.
