Three years ago I took part in a 1 May gathering of democratically-minded people on Lubyanka in Moscow. A particularly democratically-memorable, moving, etc, etc and yet again etc moment was when equally democratically-minded people from SPS (Union of Right Forces) and from Yabloko both spoke of the need to unite against the attack on democracy.

I think Ukraine should take an example from Mexico. As long as there is corruption in Ukraine, then there will be no investors. I don't know how President Yushchenko will handle this. In every corner of the country there is corruption.

In my opinion, he must now make sure that Ukraine becomes as self-sustaining as possible: do a crash program scientific research into the usage of geothermal energy as a safe and endlessly available resource, to avoid dependence on the dangerous nuclear energy or on outside sources like Russia for energy.
