CEC Declares Viktor Yushchenko President of Ukraine

The Central Electoral Commission announced the official results of the December 26 presidential elections, publishing the results of all individual electoral districts in Ukraine.
Viktor Yushchenko was declared the election's winner.
15,115,712 voters, i.e. 51.99%, voted for Viktor Yushchenko. 12,848,528 voters, i.e. 44.20%, voted for Viktor Yanukovych. 682,239 voters (2.34%) did not vote for either candidate. According to CEC data, 37,657,704 people appeared on voter lists. 29,073,076 voters (77.2%) received ballots. 29,068,971 voters (77.19%) participated in the election. 422,492 ballots (1.45%) were considered invalid.
In Crimea 81.26% of voters voted for V. Yanukovych, 15.41% - for V. Yushchenko.

Electoral district abroad: V. Yushchenko 59.52%, V. Yanukovych - 38.50%.
The CEC members cited voting results in all 226 territorial electoral districts (225 districts in Ukraine and a separate electoral district abroad) and inserted these data into the joint protocol. The Central Election Commission members signed the protocol establishing the results of the December 26, 2004 re-run of the Ukrainian presidential election. As CEC Chairman Yaroslav Davydovych announced, Yurij Donchenko and Bronislav Raykovskyj signed the protocol with reservations (their reservations focused on the law on the peculiarities of application of the Law of Ukraine On Presidential elections in Ukraine in the course of re-run election on December 26, 2004, which, in their opinion, infringed on the electoral rights of the handicapped, and therefore, the protocol of the election results does not fully reflect the real expression of will of the people). He stated that the protocol was drafted on January 10, 2005, at 11 PM.
