537,481 Ukrainian citizens exercised their right to vote from home. This was reported by UNIAN, which referenced the official site of the Central Election Committee.
According to data from 225 territorial electoral districts, the majority of people voting from home were in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions:
Donetsk: 88,482
Luhansk: 49,185
Crimea: 25,281
Dnipropetrovsk: 26,106
Lviv: 29,629
The minority of those voting from home was in the Transcarpathia region: 3,566.
According to the data, 12,522 voters voted by absentee ballots. The largest number of votes by absentee ballot was in Kyiv (1,490) and in the Odessa region (1,210), and the least absentee votes were cast in Sevastopol (42).
The number of registered voters was 37,291,681. Actual turnout was 28,826,598.
We remind our readers that one argument from Yanukovych’s supporters for appealing the election results is that many people could not vote from home.
Earlier data indicate that Yanukovych received the majority of votes in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
