Falsifications of Electoral Lists Evident in Odessa Region

The voter lists submitted to territorial commissions of Odessa-region electoral districts show signs of falsification.

This was reported by lawyers for Viktor Yushchenko's Odessa regional headquarters. According to them, in the Suvorov district of the city alone, more than 1250 voters were repeatedly included, with different addresses, on voter lists.

Let's remember that the voter lists are being readied on the basis of information submitted by district administrations before October 31. As the first and the second rounds of the election have shown, these lists already contain many falsifications including “departed souls” and “clones” of some individuals and entire buildings, but exclude active Yushchenko supporters. Yushchenko’s lawyers argue that the correction and amendment of voter lists prior to the re-run is unsatisfactory. This can lead to a situation in which many residents of Odessa and the region will, yet again, not find their names on the voter lists, unlike the “departed souls” that are persistently voting, from one round to the next, for the pro-government candidate.
