Demands of 237 Employees to the National TV Company of Ukraine

237 employees of the National TV Company of Ukraine (NTVCU) signed the address of the NTVCU employees and passed it to the NTVCU President.

Full text of the address:

ADDRESS TO THE NTVCU MANAGEMENT

We, reporters, directors, cameramen, employees of the First National TV-cannel, protest against the total twisting of information, one-sided reporting of the news, hiding important information from the people of Ukraine on socially important events. We demand:

-Live broadcast of the Independence Square rally. We think it is there where the history of our country is being made.

-Reporting objective news prepared the group of the independent reporters, editors and anchors.

-Renewal of the public discussion of the editor policy. We also demand from NTVCU to provide time to broadcast the independent production of “We are free” company, which will unveil the mechanisms of pressure on reporters.

-Official and decisive actions from the management and staff of NTVCU to protect oppositional channels “5th Channel” and “Era” that are threatened to get closed.

-Joint development and signing of the work agreement between the staff and the management of the NTVCU.

The NTVCU employees are willing to wait for the official reaction from the management till 7pm, November 25. After that, if our demands are not met we will declare the strike and turn to EBU with the request to protect our legal rights and to reconsider NTVCU membership in the system of all-European Vision.
