Canada believes Ukraine should examine the alleged election fraud

The ambassador of Ukraine in Canada was summoned to Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday. Ministry’s top officials put forward a demand that Kiev immediately investigate "allegations of serious fraud" in the runoff of presidential elections in Ukraine.

"I am concerned by reports ... which indicate a variety of serious violations, including illegal voting practices, violence and patterns of intimidation against voters and election observers," said Canadian Foreign Minister Pierre Pettigrew who is now abroad.

Canada, with around one million of its citizens being of Ukrainian descent, pays close attention to events in Ukraine.
