The meaning of UPA today and October 14, 2006

UPA is a constant national force in the evolutionary liberation process taking place in Ukraine over decades of time since the 1940. UPA is as relevant today to Ukraine's embattled democracy status as it was at its inception.

The millions of Ukrainians in the diaspora will be watching intently on how the self-hating Ukrainians within the Communist party remnant and other pro-enemy Russia elements react to the grand march which former UPA members will prosecute in our majestic Kyiv this October 14.

Long live a free and unified Ukraine!!!!!

UPA was indestructible, since its best weapon was a amessage and it did not lose its appeal to the nations enslaved by the Russian imperialistic ambitions, even though UPA leader Taras Chuprynka was killed in 1950. KGB chief L. Beria, understood well the impact upon the Soviet rulers of UPA calls to fight for freedom, and attempted to "hijack" them by organizing his own OUN and UPA units and from within them neutralize their thrust for liberty. Russian generals
were frightened even by the perpetuation of the names of OUN and UPA
and ambushed Beria in Moscow hotel to end his life and his novel approach to deal with the enemy of the USSR.

Wherever and however the military historians characterize UPA, it was a true and somewhat miraculous amalgamation of minds and spirits of Ukrainian patriots who obtained from wherever and whomever military craft and weapon to fight for their right to live. It became a formidable national fighting army where young and old stood side by side in the battles. Though thier enemy deprived them of everything but did not extinguish their belief in God, and hope for a better future. Glorious armies of developed coutries whether they are figting in Afganistan, Chechnia or Iraq are proud to point their superior weapon at impoverished people who have only themselves, their faith in Almighty and the cause to fight for however the "civilized world" deems it. At the same time it is ironic these superior powers find themselves at the end of the day defeated by them, and hopefully, for humanity sake ,they return to their shores, casting from their hearts pride and prejudice towards "lesser people".

I was fortunate to spend my youthful four years in UPA, and will be happy to send anybody anywhere in the world my memoirs "??????? ???????? ?? ????". It is also available in Russian. This is not commercial since I send my book free of all charges.
