I am a science fiction buff - maybe you are too. I think Jules Verne was an incredible visionary - writing about things decades ahead of his time.

Consider for a moment how much things have changed in 50 years - and then how much more things might change in another 20 - 50 years.

Now consider for a moment that your inner space and your private thoughts are no longer simply your own. Suppose that devices manage to manipulate your behaviour in ways you never expected.

Image that the TV is no longer just a psychological tool. Imagine for a moment there is another frequency or even another unrelated device working separately or even in concert with the TV. The frequency is not audible and perhaps it does not specifically target the auditory senses directly ... but it does send out a message ... but not everyone responds in the same fashion to the signal.

Most people would exclaim that this is madness.

... and that is how many people on the street have been reacting to Oleksander. They simply think he's 'nuts'.

What they don't know is that this all very real and very possible.

I met Oleksandr while hiking up to the Museum of Medicine in Kiev. He had something written in English posted on the side of his car. I thought this was unusual since not many people communicate in English in the Ukraine.

In his message he desperately tries to communicate the private hell he is a victim of. He is being bombarded with electromagnetic signals - deliberately and maliciously.

You can chuckle and walk on or you can stop to think for a moment what this means. I first came across this phenomenon about 10 year ago - and that was my initial reaction - I chuckled and disregraded it. But I later had to give it some thought.

In the end, after several months of inquiry, travels and interviews, I determined that this was completely possible although perhaps not in exactly the fashion proclaimed by the victims.

I reflected at length on possible technologies and designs but the important things to consider I think is how it will be used now and in the future.

It clearly has been used in various forms and I think there is some international competition and even international collusion to experiment with it - determine suitable test subjects and attempt to improve it.

Training assassins is one thing but generally broadcasting a population to destabilize it is another possibility. Or it might have other nefarious objectives - to start a civil war, further mentally anesthetize a population or even generate positive behavioural patterns for a particular purpose - say a specific political candidate.

I think the technology is in various stages of testing and development. I am also assuming that certain people are far more sensitive to these electromagnetic phenomena than others.

One important question I had before coming to the Ukraine was - where are these secret American CIA 'detention centers' - and what are they really doing there?

According to Oleksandr, his problem started on a ship he was stationed aboard until he discovered something was not quite right there.

He received a 'yellow fever' injection which caused me wonder about the use of nanotech receivers being directly injected where they might preferential lodge in specific neurological tissues depending on what specific proteins they have been bound to.

And then there's the peculiar discoloration on the back of his head over the occipital suture. He claims it's a birth mark.

Madness? I really don't think so!

I think this is the future. Do governments want to control you? Some do and some claim they want you to be free - or at least believe that you are.

Most governments would like you to be 'content', work hard and not think about such things ... and all of these 'attitudes' may soon no longer be simply your own private and personal affair.

The question I think is who, when and how this will be more fully implemented.

The other important thing to consider is Oleksandr's life - can anyone help him? Does 'anyone' important enough care enough to thoroughly investigate. Can anyone help Oleksandr before he is unhelpable?

According to Oleksandr, no official government representive will consider what he has to say. In his opinion it is a deliberate plot but I prefer to read between the lines. In my opinion there is some fundamental truth to what he is saying and something critically important for so many reasons.

In my opinion I think when you stop caring you start to lose your soul. I prefer to remain a human being, maintain my humanity and be vigilant concerning matters of penultimate human significance.
