The Belarusian opposition has confirmed the death of one of the demonstrators on 25 March

The website of the opposition leader and ex-presidential candidate, Aleksandr Milinkevich, has confirmed that Sergei Antroshchenko from the Grodnyensk region, who took part in the opposition rallies on 25 March, has died in hospital. The message says that he died last night from injuries which he received in the special temporary detention unit. No one has been able thus far to contact his relatives.
[It is not, in fact, clear whether Sergei Antroshchenko received his injuries while already in custody, or during the brutal suppression of the demonstration on Saturday. He was last seen lying on the ground on Saturday, and there had been fears for his safety since then. Belarusian opposition organizations and the OSCE had for the last two days been endeavouring to find out about his fate and about others who have still not been traced. translator’s note].
