Looking for a place to post translation projects – 2b2 platform.

Submitted by denis.whitehead on Fri, 2005-12-16 18:23.

Hello,

My name is Denis Whitehead and I am looking for a place where I can post translation projects online and receive bids for these projects from different translators.
Translations will be in different languages and would involve different types of expertise – from legal to entertainment.
I would appreciate if anyone can tell me of such site where I can do that and save my time searching for translators.

Thank you,
Regards,

Denis

Hello,

I have looked for the same thing and have just found LinguaLance.com

They seem to offer good things like posting projects free of charge and receiving bids from translators directly in your mail box.

So you may wish to check them out.

Good luck.

Best regards,

Linda

Hi,

You can send any work needing Russian-English, English-Russian or Ukrainian-English translation along to me, if you like, for an estimate.

Payment isn't a problem, as I have a Canadian bank account.

Hi Denis, if it's translators living in Ukraine you're looking for, we have contact with a few with English/Russian/Ukrainian skills which we've used on an ad-hoc basis for business in Kharkiv. Setting up a your own bulletin board could be pretty straightforward.

From experience, having recently become in a small project of this kind here in the UK there are other potential difficulties. For example your translator mey be computer literate and able to return a document file but there's another skill factor required if it's then to be transposed to something like Adobe for a commercial brochure. Quite difficult to manage at a distance.

Then you'd have the problem of paying them. Can you do it legitimately (I'm assumming you're thinking of it in Ukraine as you've posted here) if you don't have business registration?

Regards,

Jeff
