It could be really cool to add a category "People" - there in the top menue, and there to keep profiles of all the people who are registered - so that one could find the people they wish to find.

Also if possible - to allow to make the categories of the profile (name, place, etc) to be public if people wish so. Eventually it could be good if that stuff could be sorted, say, by country, or alphabetically, or by maidan-age :-).

Now I'll have to bring here my friend Persefona :-) (as promised), and we'll start and English-speaking philosophy club :-P. Tizia's right we need some of those cute smiles from Ukranian version if possible.

A couple of things:

- if possible - to add the option of quoting the message to which you are responding (as in Ukr version)

- if possible - may be to show statistics (how many times the massage/comment was viewed) somewhere there. On the other hand - they won't be precise, as you can view the whole thread without opening each sepapate comment, so may be no need to add them...

If possible - to allow jumping to the list of topics in the forum you are currently in from each particular thread (that is, after i add this comment - to let me go to the list of threads in the forum, not just to the "next thread").

Removed it for now. We'll return to this alter when more content is present.

In short - it's ability to use contents from other blogs or newfeeds.

I noticed that when I add content (news) by pasting it from the Word, all rich text tags are preserved making quite a mess. Is it possible to add a button to strip the added text of all formatting?

You can copy the text into notepad at first. With this all word tags will disappear. Then reselect and copy the text from notepad and paste it whenever you need.

but it is annoying. The possibility to use a button would be nice and elegant solution :-) (What about smilies here?)

Maybe Franko could make a feature similar to the one he implemented in Ukrainian interface.

have you turned on rich text editing in your profile btw?

Submitted by Tizia on Thu, 2005-02-10 23:53.

But I don't use it often.

Yes, I can make it available here. Give me the source and prepare for the MAJOR CRASH! ( joke :-) )

AFAIK, the main page restarts every 5 minutes. It/s just picture. :)

Some people also dont know English though, better for them to write in Ukrainian than not write at all, I speak both ....

We definitely have a well developed place for communications in Ukrainian. This is for English-speaking community, including people who do not know our language ... yet.

Why do you bow so low before us native English speakers? Have you too become a victim of our English-language neo-colonialism, which benefits primarily us English speakers? Why not have a really international forum and choose a truly democratic and fair solution, where everyone is on the same linguistic level and equally privileged? No need to waste all that time trying to learn the irregularities and inconsistencies of English - in another 25 years you'll have to switch to Spanish or Chinese anyway, and go through the whole language-learning process once again just to keep up with things! Ciao!

We will be happy to maintain discussion forums, news, etc about Ukraine, in all possible languages, and this is where we are heading. :-) We are starting with english because this is a foreign language most known to many of us, I am not sure we have the resources to maintain the chinese version of Maidan yet. But we will be working on it :-).
